Socialisation is the learning process that puppies require to gain the life skills to be content and confident no matter what life throws at them. At Teaching Tails, we have a few socialisation classes to get you started.
However until you can socialise your puppy,
I have included some ideas of things that your puppy will need to have exposure to. Every puppy will be different. Some will take every new experience in their stride, some will be less confident. Your job is to understand how your puppy is feeling.
If at any point your puppy is feeling nervous or reluctant about an introduction take a step back. Let the puppy observe the new thing from a distance where they are relaxed. Being anxious will created negative feelings that may well last a lifetime. However, removing them from a situation where they feel afraid will build a trust in you that is everlasting.
