Terms & Conditions

1. Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your place is only confirmed when a full payment is received.

  • If a payment has not been made, your place will be made available again online. We will try to contact you before we do this, however, contacting you is not guaranteed. 

2. Class

  • You must be physically able to handle your own dog in class. If you cannot, a one to one session would be a better option. 

  • You must not knowingly book a nervous and reactive dog into class. If in doubt, arrange to contact us beforehand. 

  • If you have not contacted spoken to us and we find that your dog is highly reactive/nervous we may have to seek an alternative solution to meet your dog's needs.

3. Refund Policy

  • We require one week notice if you wish to cancel your class/socialisation. A handling fee of £15.00 will be incurred. Due to limited availability we lose the ability to take further bookings.

  • If you wish to cancel please give as much notice as possible

  • Classes and courses are non transferable. If you are absent from a class the instructor will be unable to catch you up in then next session. 

  • If you are absent, you will need to arrange a time with us to go over what you've missed.

  • There is NO refunds for missed classes.

4. Block Bookings

  • Block bookings will ideally be at a set time each week. Where this is not possible, your appointment will be booked one week in advance.

  • You need to give 24 hours notice to cancel your slot with the ability to rearrange for the following week. 

  • We can only offer limited flexibility due to other commitments 

  • Refunds will NOT be offered for missed classes or appointments. 

5. Training Methods

  • Your Teaching Tails instructor is a certified member of the Institute of Modern Dog Training. This means that they have undergone a rigorous assessment process and have met the high standards expected of any IMDT member. 

  • As IMDT members we actively provide and promote force-free training. We actively reject any methods or equipment that may cause physical or mental discomfort to dogs. Therefore, we do not allow any forms of harsh handling and will not accept choke chains, prong collars, rattle cans, water sprays or any other aversive device.

  • We aim to show you that proven kind methods are the way forward.  

6. Hygiene

  • We use vet approved disinfectants and every precaution to reduce the risk of disease. 

  • However, we cannot be held accountable should a dog become poorly. This has not happened before, however, there can always be a risk. 

  • A vaccinated dog may still not have full immunity. Titre tested dog's may not show full immunity. 

  • We ask you to help us reduce any risk. Do not attend class if your dog has had an onset of vomiting/diarrhea or has a temperature. 

7. COVID-19

  • Hand sanitizer is provided and face masks are also available for indoor use.

  • Please do NOT attend class if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or feel unwell. We all need to do our part to reduce to spread.

  • Classes will be held outdoors as much as possible. Please wait in your car until we tell you to enter the building. 

  • Respect each other and always maintain social distancing when in our facility. 

  • Dog's will remain on leads during class to avoid people from being close together. 

  • Puppies and dogs from socialisation classes will be rubbed down with pet antiviral wipes upon arrival and before returning to you.

  • We will make every effort to ensure the safety of our clients and trainers. However, the nature of COVID means that we cannot take responsibility should you contract the virus as it is difficult to trace the source of your infection. By booking with us, you are confirming that you attend entirely at your own risk.

  • If we have been in contact and one of us contracts the virus we will contact you via mobile to let you know. 

8. The Small Print

Teaching Tails will make every endeavor to run courses in a safe and professional manner. Teaching Tails has a public liability and general insurance suitable for a dog training club.

Participation in Teaching Tails activities is entirely at the risk of the participant. Neither Teaching Tails, it's individual instructors/helpers, nor the landlords of the training revenue accept any responsibility whatsoever for injuries or losses which are not covered by Teaching Tails insurance. 

Handlers/owners remain responsible for their dogs at all times and are advised to ensure they have adequate pet insurance cover for liability caused by their dog to property or to a third party.

9. Results

  • Owners must recognise the role they play in their dog's learning process. Practicing between sessions will be integral to achieving desired results.

By purchasing any of our courses you declare that you are at least 18 YEARS OLD. 

You acknowledge that you have carefully read this agreement and understand it's contents.
